Between Two Worlds

With both the decades-long civil war and the myths of his country as the "two worlds", this allegorical film is one of the most original in recent years. Starting with an unnamed man falling from the sky, and continuing with a long shot whereby the protagonist beholds a city overwhelmed by riots, this enigmatic fable, which unfolds like tableaux, rejects normal storytelling and embraces visualised oral history.
